“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

1 Peter 1:3

2021 was eagerly awaited but it is proving to have its own challenges. The pandemic is still very much among us, many regions have been ravaged by natural disasters. While some places are starting to open up, many areas are still on lockdown. Some of us have not seen family members in over a year. In a few short months, there have been a number of mass shootings; innocent people are being attacked in the streets for no good reason.

Sometimes you just have to take a break from all the bad news and focus only on things you can control. Even if you are unable to go to Church, take the time to pray or attend the service online. Make a difference in your own close circle and community. Take a step back from negativity and do something enjoyable. Cook a new dish this Easter, and enjoy it with your family, away from devices or media. Immerse yourself in a good book. Go on an early morning hike and watch the sunrise. Or catch the sunset.

In spite of any difficulties, hope abounds. The miracle of Jesus’ resurrection and His endless love gives us joy and the strength to persevere.

We thank the Lord for his blessings.

I wish you an Easter full of joy and peace. Thanks for stopping by!
