I’ve learned that being prepared includes learning skills in addition to storing supplies. I found it is fun, and helps you save money at the same time. These projects are easily done in an apartment or small house, at very little cost. Here are a few easy projects that I’ve done:
Make your own Cleaning Supplies
Homemade Liquid Soap (from a Soap Bar)
Homemade Dishwashing Detergent
Making Iced Tea from Dried Flowers
Easiest Homemade Laundry Detergent

Love your Site. Vinny.
Thanks for all the instructions. I was just talking to my wife that we needed to move toward using homemade cleaning supplies. Again, thanks.
Hi Joe, You are welcome! Thanks for the comment.
As for homemade cleaner that I use first of all you need to get 32 ounce spray bottles from a Janitor supply store and they are cheap I got two with high capacity sprayers as well as the 32 ounce bottle for about $7 and two with regular capacity sprayers for about $5 since the recepies that I am giving you are based on 32 ounces. The cleaners that I make I use to clean bathroom except for the Ammonia and water mixture that I use a general purpose cleaner. First of all the cleaner that I use for the shower stall and bath tub:
15 ounces of water
15 ounces of White distilled vinegar
2 ounces of liquid dish soap
for the counter top, sink and toilet:
16 ounces of water
16 ounces of Ammonia
for inside of the toilet bowl and this I do not use a spray bottle for I just ad the items directly to the toilet bowl than I scrub with a toilet bowl brush
2 cups white distilled vinegar
2 cups borax
for the mirrors and I use a spray bottle for the mirror as well
16 ounces of water
16 ounces of White distilled vinegar
Also I use microfiber cleaning clothes to wipe off the cleaner and they can be washed in a washing machine and used again just do not and I repeat do not use fabric softer when you wash the microfiber cleaning clothes.
Hi Nella, Thanks for all these great cleaning recipes!
