Today we are reviewing Alien Gear’s Cloak Tuck 3.0 Inside the Waist Band (IWB) Holster.

What the Package Includes

The holster itself is in black leather, with a neoprene padding in the back.  A Parts Pack, which helps you customize the holster, also came with it.  It contains:  screws, rubber spacers, T-nut, washer and hex key.

Alien Gear holsters are made in the U.S.

Trying out the Holster

We tried the holster on a 165 lb. man, wearing a polo and a belted pair jeans.   In this case, the holster is for the Sig P232, a right handed user.   (We won’t get into the handgun or caliber discussion, as this is strictly a personal choice.)  The Standard Nylon Clip fits 1 1/4-1 1/2 inch belts, but other sizes are available.

The concealed handgun in the holster is not noticeable at all.  It is also very comfortable and easy to reach.  That’s because the holster is customizable:

  • The cant, or the angle your gun will sit inside the holster, has a default of 15 degrees and can be adjusted.
  • The ride, which is how high or low the holster sits in relation to your belt, is also adjustable.
  • Finally, the retention, which is how tightly the holster grips your gun can also be modified using the spacers and screws included with the parts pack.

Pulling the handgun out of the holster was smooth; and just as easily placed back in.  You don’t have to struggle to keep the holster in place.   Here is the You Tube video:

Overall, the Alien Gear Cloak Tuck IWB is a comfortable holster. For some other best rated concealed carry holsters on the market, check out this article from HolsterAddict.
