You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Thanksgiving 2016 comes only a few weeks after one of the most divisive elections in our country. Indeed I have heard of some families concerned that their Thanksgiving celebration would be marred by discord among family members with opposing views. Now is the time to set aside our differences and come together in thanks. In the midst of protests and unrest, terrorist threats, economic woes, worldwide natural disasters and other worries, we are ever grateful to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving surrounded by our loved ones.
Having a preparedness mindset, I am cognizant of all the things that can fail in our system. But I am grateful for things that have not failed. We have a roof over our heads, food to eat, water in the tap, and all our other comforts. In this day and age of commercialism, people tend to forget what this time of year means. It is time to give thanks to God for all the good things that have gone on in your life. I hope Thanksgiving is not eclipsed by all the emphasis on Black Friday and marathon shopping days ahead. We should not take anything for granted. Let’s be thankful for what we have and be mindful of our blessings.
I’d like to thank our sponsors, whose support helps maintain the blog. My greatest thanks to you, dear readers, for taking the time to share part of your day with me. We hope we can all celebrate many more abundant Thanksgivings to come.
I wish you all a wonderful and safe holiday.
