I came across this piece of news that may interest you: a passport that includes information on whether the passenger has been vaccinated against COVID-19 is currently being developed.

Industry leaders are coordinating their efforts to create a digital passport that would say whether a passenger has been vaccinated for COVID-19.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced this week it is in the final phase of development for what it hopes will be universally accepted documentation that in turn could boost confidence among wary travelers.

The digital health pass would include a passenger’s testing and vaccine information and would manage and verify information among governments, airlines, laboratories and travelers.

According the article, so far, only one airline, Australian airline Qantas is known to be making plans to require their passengers to get a vaccination before boarding their international flights.

However, if other airlines follow suit, this would limit people’s choices, thereby making it mandatory for passenger to get vaccinated or not be able to fly.

According to Fox News, governments have not enforced the requirement for vaccinations in order to enter another country. However, by changing their terms and conditions for international travel, airlines can ask their passengers to get vaccinated before boarding one of their planes.

Spokespersons for both Korean Air and Air New Zealand have said that the airlines may ultimately require passengers to get vaccinated in order to fly.

If this catches on, then international travelers will be faced with two choices: either get vaccinated so you can fly, or don’t go on your trip. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens…

  1. A document similar to this already exists. If you travel internationally to non Western, developing areas, you are required to get vaccinated against Cholera, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, TAB, Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Rabies, Japanese Encephalitis. In order to get a Visa to visit these non Western countries you produce this document to demonstrate you are covered. It is typical issued by your Health Service provider.

  2. Scary stuff
I personally will not travel by plane
    I don’t trust vaccinations
In past when I took flu shot I got sick,
I would be willing to be tested for Covid-19, but no vaccinations
