As the trade war between the U.S. and China continues, both sides have issued tariffs on goods. Whenever I listen to the news, I always look at the bottom line on how things will affect me personally.
These tariffs have been going on for months. Back in May, it was reported that tariffs imposed then affected prices on clothing, furniture and electronics.
What products are impacted?
According to Fox Business, The latest round will cause an increase in prices to the following consumer products:
- coffee
- wine
- produce such as watermelon, tomatoes, avocados,
- milk
- butter
- clothing
Expect higher prices to impact Christmas spending
According to Barron’s, the latest round of tariffs will impact plastic products, cell phones, laptops, electronics, machinery, toys and apparel.
Furthermore, the Barron’s article also indicated:
“Some other products with high reliance on Chinese imports include tableware and kitchenware, LED lamps, Christmas ornaments, microwaves, ceiling fans, and blankets and rugs.”
Forbes recommends consumers buy these items now before prices increase: shoes, clothes, tech gear, baby products, holiday decorations, personal care and household items.
